The purpose of this page is to offer guidance to Hackney schools in implementing the National Curriculum 2000 frameworks for PSHE and Citizenship.
Whole school implementation of PSHE and Citizenship is advocated in The National Healthy School Standard (NHSS), Department of Health (DH) and DfES (1999) and is essential because so many aspects of school life influence pupils' personal and social development.

The guidance is divided into two sections 'Policy' and the learning framework 'Schemes of Work' which sets out in Key Stages of 6 units of work for each year group, what pupils may be expected to know, understand and be able to do.

PSHCE
This document outlines DfES requirements for a whole school approach to PSHCE and provides a recommended contents list for schools developing or reviewing a PSHCE and Citizenship policy.

This document gives guidance on developing Sex and Relationship Education policy and practice and provides information on young people's sexual health.

This guidance helps schools to quality assure agency involvement and provides a planning tool for joint working. It is divided into three sections: 1. Management 2. Project planning 3. Monitoring and evaluation.
