About Our Service

Welcome to the Adult and Community Learning Service pages. We hope that these pages are useful for you to find learning opportunities for you and your family.

We deliver in all areas of Hackney.

These pages should give you all the information you need on every aspect of adult and family learning on offer, but if you do have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at adultlearning@learningtrust.co.uk or 020 8820 7000.

What we do:

  • We work with partners and other providers around the county to provide learning opportunities for all people over the age of 19.  We also work in partnership with schools and other organisations to provide opportunities for families to learn together.
  • The opportunities are offered by ourselves, further education colleges, schools, voluntary and community groups and other organisations.
  • The range of courses offered include those for personal and professional development, leisure, learning as a family, those looking to return to learning, those with learning difficulties and disabilities and bespoke courses in the community.
  • Opportunities range from one-off taster courses to longer programmes. Some are free and some carry fees. Concessions can apply. Most courses are subsidised by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and/or Hackney Council.

Ensuring quality

The Adult and Community Learning Service is regularly inspected by OFSTED, and we regularly monitor our provision for quality.
