Safeguarding and Promoting  Well-being
 “Safeguarding Children is Everyone’s Responsibility”

Keeping Children Safe in Hackney is everybody’s responsibility and the Learning Trust is committed to working with schools, early years settings and partner agencies to ensure that children are protected and safe from harm. There is a clear duty for everyone supporting or working with children and young people to safeguard and promote the welfare of every child. Individuals and organisations are expected to carry our their responsibilities in such a way as to minimise risk of harm to children or young people and promote their welfare in accordance with the Children Act 2004 and Working Together to Safeguard Children, HM Government 2010.

This site has been established to assist schools and Early Years providers in improving practices relating to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. It provides access to a range of legislation, guidance, training, documents and links that may assist in meeting statutory and inspection requirements.
