Governors’ conference a success
Eighty Hackney school governors joined Trust staff at the Bridge Academy on 22 November for a day of networking and training at the Hackney school governors’ conference.
The theme of the conference was ‘education for the future’. Trust chair Richard Hardie opened the event and Dr Keith Davidson gave the keynote speech. During the rest of the day, governors attended different workshops on topics such as how to develop an effective governing body, working with supplementary schools, exclusions and managing behaviour.
The governors’ conference takes place every year and is organised by the Governor Services team. Deputy Head of service and conference organiser Valletta Bayley would like to thank all this year’s facilitators for making the conference a success: Jeremy Harris, Safuriat Yesufu, Derek Balaam, Steve Herbert, Marlene Scott, Deborah Tucker, Terence Bevington, Cleon Wilson and Harry Harpur.
